Sidreria / by shane eaton

how bout them apples :: overall 7.5/10 :: €25 all in menu

If you like cider, let me introduce you to your favorite spot in the world. La Sidreria, located under a bridge in the sketchy Lambrate zone (east of the tracks!) may seem frightening from the outside, but it's actually a really nice place. The interior is definitely giargiana-frendly and will make you feel like you are in a jungle-themed restaurant in small-town Italy. The staff and owners are very friendly and didn't rush us even if we were the last table left. You will find a hard time finding a better value in Milano. For 25€ you can have a six plate meal with unlimited cider followed by coffee and digestivo. They offer a menu inspired by apples (for example, mixed salad with apples, risotto with toma cheese and apples, beef tartare with apple) and 5 different ciders. I am not a huge cider fan, but enjoyed the stronger Rosso Montanaro and Luciamaria. The food itself was excellent, with the highlights being the risotto and the apple salad.
