Pinch fall menu 2017: We love pinch / by shane eaton

The new Pinch cocktail menu inspired by comic book and cartoon characters launches today! Felix Petruska along with Chiara Dehò and Corrado Garcia were responsible for the beautiful graphics and design of the comic book-style menu.

Once again, Mattia Lissoni and Erik Viola have proven that Pinch belongs on everyone's best of Milano lists. The new cocktail menu features 12 drinks with names like Popeye (Braccio di Ferro), Mad Hatter (Cappellaio Matto) and Samurai Jack.

Major respect to Toney Teddy Fernandez for the amazing photos on a lender camera he's never used before.

My favorite drinks

Jigen features Nikka whisky smoked with tobacco, German vermouth, homemade syrup of Belgian beer, and a decoction of berries and spices. This is my favorite drink on the menu with smoky notes of cigar and whisky balanced with the sweetness from red berries. This is a smooth and meditation worthy sipper. Get it!

Rubber features gin, a tarragon and rosemary infusion, lime juice and simple syrup. The tarragon gives a dinstictive bittersweet flavor to this delicious sour cocktail. This cocktail is especially fun to drink thanks to the included Sticky Hands rubber toy. I expect that approachable flavor profile of Rubber will make it the strongest seller on the new menu.

Cappellaio matto (Mad Hatter) has Bulleit bourbon, simple syrup, chinotto liqueur, english breakfast tea, flax and toasted sesame seeds, and nutmeg and is rightfully served in an elegant tea cup. A peculiar drink with many interesting flavors that will dazzle your tastebuds. You will easily identify chinotto, tea and almonds, neatly wrapped in an enticing base of Bulleit bourbon.

Braccio di Ferro (Popeye) includes a bourbon base with a french herbal liqueur, homemade citronette with tomato and mustard, centrifuged spinach, saline solution, Angostura and sugar. This healthy cocktail would surely inspire Popeye with its grassy and vegetal notes. A great side of sauteed spinach is served on top of the drink.

Trading cards

The coolest part of the menu are the awesome trading cards included with three signature cocktails: Roark Jr (Tequila Espolon, mango purè, lemon juice, simple syrup, peperoncino liqueur), Cappellaio Matto and Homer Simpson (orange juice, Boker's bitters, mezcal Joven, chinotto amaro, homemade syrup of clove and Artemisia, top of Ichnusa). The trading cards feature scenes from famous bars from films including Casablanca, Star Wars and The Shining. Inspect the cards closely to see Pinch habitués and staff cleverly inserted into the beautiful artwork by Felix Petruska. When posting Instagram photos with the cards, be sure to use the hashtag #figurinepinch.
