Toney, the photographer for Questa Mia Milano, stopped by the opening of Briscola Pizza Society in Via Piero della Francesca 31 near the Gerusalemme station of the M5 and the Milano Nord Domdossola train station. At the inauguration party were a lot of the usual faces like our number 1 competitor Ezio of Io e Margherita, the lovely Clara of Gourmode, Alice of I Dolci di Alice, the twentysomething ladies Ilaria and Stefania of I Trentenni, the charming Agnese from BeMyFennec, chef-on-demand Marco of Uomo Senza Tonno and the splendid Debora and Daniela of Foodie Meetup.

Io e Toney abbiamo partecipato all'anteprima della nuova lista al Pinch. Grazie a Chiara dell'invito e la sua solare accoglienza (mi ha trattato da principe anche se sono arrivato 10 minuti in ritardo con un leggero hangover).

Come la volta scorsa, i ragazzi Mattia Lissoni, Fabio Brugnolaro, Carlo Simbula e Erik Viola hanno creato un'eccellente lista. Con la partenza di Carlo per il Morgante ora dietro al banco del Pinch c'è anche Antonio Galetta.

Durante la degustazione abbiamo testato 8 dei 12 nuovi drink. E' stato un evento molto bello, anche se soffrivo ancora dalla festa al 1930 la sera prima. C'erano tanti volti noti del settore come Chiara Beretta, Claudio Riva, Chiara Casati, Ago Galli, Simone Muzza, Nicole Cavazzuti, Mirta Oregna e chiaramente Burri!

Toney and I had the chance to attend a preview tasting session for the autumn cocktail list at Pinch. Thanks to Chiara for the invitation and her amazing hospitality as always.

Just like the last menu at Pinch, the boys Mattia Lissoni, Fabio Brugnolaro, Carlo Simbula and Erik Viola have set the bar high. Joining the team recently is the Antonio Galetta, taking over from Carlo who is now at Morgante.

During the afternoon tasting session, we sampled 8 of the 12 new cocktails. It was an awesome event as always with lots of familiar faces from the industry like Chiara Beretta, Claudio Riva, Chiara Casati, Ago Galli, Nicole Cavazzuti, Mirta Oregna and course Burri! In particular, I was happy to finally meet Simone Muzza of Zero.eu who I hope will be my new drinking buddy!

Top 5 drinks

Pepper Porn (10/10) - Erik Viola

Il gusto deciso del peperone si sposa perfettamente con la base di tequila in questo cocktail speziato e fresco. Lo staff suggerisce di leccare il sale al peperone sull'esterno del bicchiere prima di sorseggiare il drink. In fondo, Elisa ci mostra la tecnica corretta per bere il Pepper Porn. Ingredienti: tequila blanco, cordiale al peperone, zucchero, succo d'arancia, Ichnusa, crusta di sale al peperone.

The sharp flavor of the bell pepper perfectly complements the tequila base of this refreshing cocktail. The staff at Pinch suggest to lick the bell pepper salt on the outside of the glass before taking a swig of this delicious cocktail. Elisa demonstrates how this done below. Ingredients: Tequila blanco, bell pepper cordial, sugar, orange juice, Ichnusa beer, crust of bell pepper infused salt.

PG INC. (9/10) - Mattia Lissoni

Speziato e complesso con un gusto affumicato grazie al Mezcal QuiQuiRiQui. Un'altra bomba da Mattia. Ingredienti: Mezcal, shrub di capperi e olive, lime, zucchero, basilico e una crusta di polvere di capperi.

Spicy and complex with a smokey flavor thanks to the QuiQuiRiQui mezcal. Perhaps the most unique drink on the new menu, Mattia once against hits it out of the park with PG INC. Ingredients: Mezcal, caper and olive shrub, lime, sugar, basil, crust of caper powder.

Curcumatto (9/10) - Mattia Lissoni

Un cocktail sano ed esotico grazie alla presenza della curcuma, un ingrediente comune nei curry indiani. Per questo motivo, il Curcumatto è il drink preferito di Toney della nuova lista. Ingredienti: gin, centerbe, liquore di marasche, centrifugato di curcuma, marmellata di fichi.

A healthy and exotic drink thanks to presence of tumeric, a common ingredient in Indian curries. For this reason, this drink is Toney's favorite on the new list. Curcumatto features gin, centerbe (one hundred herbs), cherry liqueur, lemon, sugar, tumeric juice and fig jam.

The Hermit (9/10) - Fabio Brugnolaro

Un rum Manhattan complesso e gustoso con note erbacee, The Hermit è il miglior drink da dopocena sulla nuova lista. Ingredienti: rum invecchiato, Carpano classico, Frangelico, Fernet e bitter al cioccolato.

A more complex version of the rum Manhattan with captivating herbal notes. The Hermit is my favorite after dinner drink on the new menu. Ingredients: aged rum, Carpano classico, Frangelico, Fernet and chocolate bitters.

The Pistachito (8/10) - Carlo Simbula

Una versione più cremosa del Margarita, grazie all'orzata di pistacchi e crusta di cacao. Ingredienti: tequila blanco, orzata di pistacchi, lime, arancia, Aztec chocolate bitter e crusta di cacao amaro e salato.

Pistachito is a creamy twist on the Margarita with tequila blanco, orgeat with homemade pistacchio, lime, orange, chocolate bitter, crust of bitter and salty cacao.
